Emma’s Fabric Studio is a one stop shop for all things fabric, based in Kent in rural England. Put simply, we’re just indulging our fabric habit… we have to be honest! Emma’s Fabric Studio is indeed run by ‘Emma’ and her sole objective is to bring fresh, inspiring and modern prints to you, the customer (replace with fabric addict/fabric hoarder if you prefer). We only stock what we ourselves ‘like’. Whilst Emma runs the business, there are a number of people who help.
Emma’s Fabric Studio is currently an online-only business, based on a working farm (it’s ok, we don’t store fabric where the cows live).
We do hold open days so that you can come and meet us, get involved in informal workshops and learn new skills. All completely free. We use small village based Post Offices to support local business, specifically Grafty Green and Charing branches. They are both very familiar with our pink parcels!
We started with 6 bolts of fabric, Metro Market by Robert Kaufman to be precise, some years ago. Those bolts doubled, then tripled, and now we stock approximately 800 fabrics. We sell most of them in three different sizing options. Alongside the fabric, we have a lot of haberdashery products and yarn. We add new products all the time. Emma’s Fabric Studio has been mentioned in a number of magazines, including Glamour, Woman’s Own, Sew, Let’s Knit and Bags, Beads & Brooches.
There are a merry band of helpers to assist Emma, although she tends to do the picking, pressing, packing and posting mainly by herself, drafting in extra help at busiest times, like the run up to Christmas. There are many helpers, too many to mention, but they mainly love fabric and have fun being involved in fabric buying decisions, event planning, photography shoots etc. This is when it really becomes a group effort. Photography is beautifully provided by our friend Lesley Bee from Lesley Bee Photography.
